2016 Goals

I don’t call them resolutions. I call them goals. It’s hard to plan a ton of things that we want to get done. We need to make those goals achievable and bite size. We should evaluate them on a regular basis. When you modify them as you go you won’t feel that you have failed. Life happens, things change or get in the way. Sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. We plan on things but as we all know things don’t always go as planned. After years of feeling like a failure and setting goals to broad or too big and unachievable I started to re-evaluate the system. I don’t remember where I saw whatever it was that made me change from resolutions to goals. However it has been something that has made me happier in the long run. I feel I can list a lot more line items onto the “wish list” of my goals.

My 2016 goals are 

  • Hang my Running medals
  • Do a Hot Chocolate run – Registered last year and the run is later this year!
  • Do some 5k’s
  • Register for Rock n’ Roll Marathon series – Last 2 years I have done the 5k and 10k back to back
  • Hit the gym 1x a week – 
  • Hang art/photos around the house
  • Do ornaments that need photos
  • Scan and Shred Papers
  • Send Photo gifts for Valentines Day – I am typing this and have NO idea what I meant!
  • Label items in pantry  – Husband is working on this project as I am 99% done with my part on this project from a pantry reorganization!! Yippee
  • Plan on the go bag with snacksDone
  • Sell old kitchen table – listed on craigslist
  • List more items on eBay
  • Plan healthy menus

There are a few others on there but this is the idea.

I will be honest. I have yet to step foot into the gym. However I have been walking around the neighborhood and park. I have been looking at other 5k’s to do however I hate how I find out about them with short notice and I can’t get registered with lots of notice or I have plans already. The Hot Chocolate one scares the crap out of me as the registrant packet says I need to be there by 6:15am… I am not a morning person, I will so need coffee that morning!

There are some I eventually want to add to my goals for 2017 or 2018 (how can I be thinking that already) Some people I follow online are runners and they do the Disney ones and dress up for them. That would be fun! But I am not a great distance runner by any means. I will have to dream of saving up for that treadmill that I want 😉
